Saturday, September 26th marked our 6th Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Central Illinois- and it was such an amazing day! Over 200 people gathered at Lowell Park in Dixon for a morning dedicated to fighting Alzheimer’s disease!
Walkers gathered under a pavilion right next to the Rock River for opening and closing ceremonies, breakfast, pictures and fun! The Walk kicked off to a great start with Illinois State Representative Tom Demmer and Dixon Mayor Liandro Arellano giving heartwarming speeches about the disease and community involvement. It was a beautiful morning accompanied by a wonderful view of the promise garden next to the river.
We are excited to announce that the Rock River Area Walk to End Alzheimer’s raised $37,950.24! Amazing! Fundraising is not over just yet, though! Walkers can continue to raise money through November 30, 2015. A very special thank you to all sponsors, volunteers and walkers who made this Walk such a success! The following team and walkers were recognized for their above-and-beyond fundraising efforts.
