Over 600 people joined together in the fight against Alzheimer’s last Thursday, September 3rd, at Clat Adams Park for the 18th annual Quincy Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
The sun was shining and spirits were high as Quincy area residents began flooding in to the park, ready to help end Alzheimer’s. Participants enjoyed a pre-walk picnic and ice-cream provided by Hy-Vee & TCBY, music from Town Square Media and information on Alzheimer’s Association education, programs and advocacy. After a touching speech from Signe Oakley, the Quincy High School marching band kicked off the walk as participants geared up, promise garden flowers in hand, ready to fight for a cure. The sea of purple trekked down the river and back on a two mile walk, honoring and supporting all those who are or have been affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Their unified efforts in the fight against Alzheimer’s had great results.
We are very excited to announce that the Quincy Walk to End Alzheimer’s raised $62,457.59 dollars for the Alzheimer’s Association!!
